Acidophil is an “innovation company” focused on the creation and development of innovative biotechnologies, products and companies that address significant unmet needs using insights from applied genetics and molecular engineering. Acidophil’s vision is that technological opportunities can be developed into successful businesses through: i) technical research and competitive intelligence; ii) innovation and patent protection; iii) collaborative research and development; iv) strategic partnering; v) entrepreneurial management; and vi) investment alongside experienced financial partners.
The founders of Acidophil, Philip Goelet and Sydney Brenner, are scientists, inventors, entrepreneurs and investors. Acidophil’s core team is supported by a network of advisors with: i) research and technology experience in medicine, microbiology, neurobiology, plant sciences, genetics, cell biology, physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, chemistry, and information technology; and ii) business experience in patent prosecution and licensing, market research and competitive intelligence, recruitment, business development and venture financing.
In addition to creating new companies, the founders of Acidophil in partnership with a small group of co-investors have participated, through affiliated investment vehicles, in the financing of these new companies alongside institutional investors. The Acidophil team has also participated in the continued management and development of the projects.
