What We Do - Commercialization phase
Independence and Commercialization Phase
This phase of product and company development can take 3-5 years and generally requires one or more corporate deals and several rounds of venture finance. Acidophil’s operational involvement in the day-to-day management of the company during this stage adjusts over time, depending on the needs of Acidophil and the new company. Even when no longer operationally involved, Acidophil remains involved with further direction of the company through either Board participation, observer or advisory roles. Furthermore, Acidophil continues to invest in the new company, alongside the institutional investors, through an affiliated investment vehicle. The new company’s goals during this phase are to create value and achieve financial independence and a financial exit for its investors. This exit is generally achieved through a trade sale or, in certain circumstances, an IPO. Acidophil and its affiliated investment vehicle will work with management and other active investors to achieve this goal.
