In order to facilitate its program of identifying and creating new “opportunities” (innovative solutions to significant unmet needs) and the development of these opportunities into new companies, Acidophil has been developing a “virtual laboratory”, which exploits advances in information technology to facilitate collaborative research and development. Progress in science and technology has depended upon the creativity and innovation of scientists and technologists who both “stand on the shoulders of giants” and interact with peers. Information technologies now enable intelligent research of electronic databases and seamless collaboration between experts wherever they happen to be. Acidophil is using these technologies to help in the identification and creation of business opportunities or new companies. Acidophil continues to use this virtual research and development environment to support the development of an investment opportunity without demanding personnel relocation or the building of new infrastructure and capacity until sufficient capital has been raised and such infrastructure is absolutely required.
