What We Do - Research Phase
The Research and Company Formation Phase
Acidophil’s program begins with the identification and creation (“conception”) of a business/technology opportunity. An opportunity combines an unmet need, a technology solution to that need, a strong intellectual property position and a capable team to execute the R&D plan and business plans to develop the technology and IP. During this initial phase Acidophil evaluates one or more competing hypotheses for the “opportunity” and actively conducts due diligence on the preferred approach to the opportunity. It identifies and evaluates product specifications, market needs, and commercialization strategies. It files provisional patents, develops formal relationships with key collaborators/partners/co-founders, drafts research plans, and secures options on necessary intellectual properties. Assuming that due diligence of a project at this stage indicates that a profitable company can be financed and developed, Acidophil moves forward during this period of “incubation” with the development of the project or new company.
